A review of the book along for the ride by sarah dessen

There are many people who cannot ride bikes; we should not judge them. Dessen wrote it during bouts of sleep deprivation after the birth of her newborn baby. In her signature pitch-perfect style, Sarah Dessen explores the hearts of two lonely people learning to connect.

Eli was just a bonus. It was frustrating to read. The Colby beach setting is picturesque and makes for a carefree summer backdrop. For me, her YA books were a huge staple of my early middle school reading.

They were her role models and she learned so much from them. This process is, clearly, heartwarming. And you know what? I liked Auden and her transformation throughout the summer as she starts to let people in. I would pick up another audio narrated by Rachel Botchan.

Now she has the chance to spend a carefree summer with her dad and his new family in the charming beach town where they live. The story is more about personal growth, and the romantic interest is more along for the ride so to speak.

She was the smartest person in the room most the time, or so she thought. Plus, her descriptions of Colby are just gorgeous. Although they are generally pretty light and beach readable, they contain at least one hard-hitting issue per book. And some live in separate homes, in separate neighborhoods, in different areas of the country.

Though the audio narrator and I got off to a rocky start, I was soon immersed in the story and able to gloss over any quirks in the narration. Do I still acquire new books?

Along for the Ride

Auden West, the girl in the formula, is fresh out of high school, but not yet at college. The most notable of these is that she cannot ride a bike. Writing and editing is never that easy for me, and when you factor in the hormones and all the other fun stuff that comes along with carrying a baby, it was quite a wild ride.In Along for the Ride, Dessen vividly imagines the very different, but intersecting, lives of two of those late-night denizens.

Perpetually high-achieving Auden. Along for the Ride, by Sarah Dessen, is a fun and enjoyable read.

In Sarah’s Words

I have to admit, at first I could not stand the main character, Auden. She was self-centered, clueless about others feelings, snobbish and down-right annoying/5. Yes.

Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen Audiobook Review

I wrote Lock and Key while I was pregnant, and edited it in the last few months before my daughter was born. Writing and editing is never that easy for me, and when you factor in the hormones and all the other fun stuff that comes along with carrying a baby, it was quite a wild ride.
